On July 18, Better at Home took 22 seniors on the city bus for a trip to the Pioneer Village.  We spent the day touring the Pioneer Village.

Everyone joined together in groups and started walking around the village. Some groups had specific spots they wanted to see other groups just wandered around.

There were more men on this tour than we usually have, and while the ladies were having a coffee break, the men chatted about the old machinery in the barns.  Arms were waving and you could tell they were talking about all the fun and problems they had with the old machinery when they were younger.  When they joined us later we asked them about all the machinery that they were looking at. They just laughed and said it brought back old memories.

Everyone enjoyed looking around the Pioneer Village. When we went into the village store and looked at all the old items, many seniors started talking about various things they used as kids.

We ended the tour at the Baked Café for tea, coffee and goodies. Everyone enjoyed sitting and talking with one another. Thank you, Baked Café, for the welcoming atmosphere and the amazing goodies.

Big Thank You to both City of Dawson Creek and BC Transit for their continued support of the Better at Home Bus Tours.
